SARAH'S HOUSE Family Advocacy Forensic Support and Crisis Center, Mohave County, Kingman, Arizona
Sarah's House was founded in Mohave County, Arizona in 2000 to offer support to victims of Child Abuse and Domestic Violence by several agencies joining together to form the first victim alliance center. This Crisis Center, presently housed in Airway Avenue, Kingman, was intended as a 'one stop' facility where victims could get a number of different services at one central location.
Sarah's House has since developed into a fully operational Forensic Examination and Crisis Support Facility for Victims of Crime and Circumstance in Mohave County, and now offers a multi-disciplinary approach in dealing with cases of family violence; this would include domestic violence, sexual assault, elder abuse, child molestation and child maltreatment. Sarah's House has provided services to over 2500 victims.
The Mission of Sarah's House has remained from the outset : Making a difference in victim's lives.
It is our goal to provide numerous quality services at one central location; this prevents re-victimization of the victim and their family. We treat each individual with courtesy, respect and compassion. This can help the victim feel comfortable and can assist with prosecution of the case.
We currently offer the following services: 24/7 Crisis Intervention for Victims of Circumstance which includes: Death Notifications, In-Home Deaths, Suicides, Vehicular Deaths, SIDS Deaths, Fires and Rollover Acccidents.
We offer 24/7 Crisis Intervention for all sexual assault cases, child molestation, child abuse and elder abuse.
We also offer Domestic Violence Crisis Intervention; we assist with Orders of Protection, Injunctions against harassment, court advocacy and information and referrrals for victims.
The Future
We are now looking toward the future in offering group therapy sessions for domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assaults. We are hoping to team up with different agencies to offer more innovative programs and services. At the new advocacy center, now opened, we are hoping to offer more programs and services due to the ever-growing community. This will include prevention, intervention and education. It is our intention to help the victims of Mohave County succeed and assist them through their time of need.
